More info

Helianthus Annuus is a large annual plant, very strong and little branched stem, reaching up to 4 m high.

Leaves simple, oval, alternate, except at the base where they are sometimes opposite, have a more or less long petiole and are rough to the touch.

The flower heads, fleshy flower containers, who tend to tip after flowering, can reach 30 cm in width. They are surrounded by an involucre scaled oval with a pointed top.

The outer florets arranged on a single rank, are generally yellow.

The Central tube flowers are pale yellow or dark red in anthocyanotic varieties.

The fruits are achenes surmounted by two scales in edge. The main root is swivel.
