Syringa Vulgaris is a tree which may reach 2 to 3 metres. It is a small tree that develops a very irregular trunk, giving him an aged appearance.

This kind of lilac produces new shoots from the base of the tree and roots.

Green heart shaped leaves appear before flowering. In the fall, the leaves become yellow-green.

Delicate purple flowers grow in clusters from May to June.

They were one of the most powerful fragrance emitted by the plant.

Hardiness zone : mini 37ºC in winter.

The tree adapts to many soils. Get lots of Sun to get a maximum of flowers. They like water, but avoid wet soils. Without proper drainage, the tree will be slowed development.

Germination : seed must dip in slightly warm water for a period of 24-48 hours. Subsequently, a month of stratification cold is required before planting in gardening soil, 1 cm deep. Keep the soil moist, not soggy.
