The fruit of Rubus leucodermis has a diameter of about 1 to 2 centimetres of reddish-purple or dark blue color to become black when ripe.

Black raspberry is a very flavored fruit which can be dried for winter. The Crown is eternal, canes are biennial or vegetative a year, flower and fruit-bearing the second and then they die.
