Ficus Auriculata or fig tree ears is an impressive Ficus and it is a superb plant for a large room. It is a tree always in leaves or almost, which developed as a large shrub or small tree, up to 7 metres high and wide.

The young leaves are born of an intense red and become more green up to 50 cm long. If you trim the tree, it reacts by developing even more new shoots and leaves on thick stems. New shoots are a dark red.

Figs form in clusters on the trunk and large branches. Ficus auriculata, develops one of the most delicious figs: round and green ; red inside. The flowers are pink and appear in spring.

Hardiness zone : -mini 5ºC in winter. Ficus auriculata grows best in full sun and with plenty of water. The soil must be moist at all times.

Germination : Seed 1 cm deep. Keep the soil moist, not soggy. The pot must be heat, 20°C to 24°C. Germination occurs in a few months or even more.
