Echinocactus is a ball-shaped cactus. It develops large spines and small flowers. Some have flexible spines, and some are without spines.

The flowers develop at the top of the plant. Dry fruits are produced, but they are not commestibles.

Hardiness zone : -10 ° C mini. Most of the Echinocactus are rather resistant to cold, often up to -10°C. They love a full sunlight, while the young plants should be protected to a full sun.

Germination : it is easy to propagate by seeding Echinocactus. Soak the seeds for a night. Place the pot in the Sun and keep the soil moist until germination which should take 4-6 weeks or more.
